Professional Experience
Nino is a highly respected infrastructure and energy executive with over 40 years of experience leading, transforming, and advising major Australian and international energy businesses. His leadership brings strategic depth to the fund’s investment decisions across regulated and unregulated energy infrastructure, transmission, and renewables.

As Managing Director of AusNet Services (ASX: AST) from 2001 to 2019, Nino was responsible for overseeing more than $13 billion in regulated electricity transmission, electricity distribution, and gas distribution assets, guiding over 1,500 employees through a period of significant operational growth and industry transformation. Under his leadership, AusNet became a leading player in Australia’s energy landscape, balancing shareholder value with long-term infrastructure resilience and regulatory engagement.

Nino has cultivated strong international partnerships, particularly in Singapore and China, and maintains a deep understanding of the evolving global energy market. His governance and strategic insight continue to shape the sector through roles as a Non-Executive Director at APA Group (ASX: APA), the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO), Transurban Queensland, and Kardinia Health. He also contributes to thought leadership and policy shaping through his position as Counsellor on the Deakin University Council, Chair of LawSquared’s Advisory Board, and as a member of the TAG Energy International Advisory Board.
A Fellow of Engineers Australia and member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Nino holds a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering (Hons), a Graduate Diploma in Management from Deakin University, and completed the prestigious Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School in 2008.
Nino’s decades of experience in regulated energy markets, critical infrastructure, and international partnerships continue to inform high-conviction investments in assets that deliver stable returns and long-term national value.
