Michel Mamet
Founder & Chief Investment Officer

Global Financial markets | Energy and Resources
Professional Experience
Michel brings over 25 years of deep expertise in global energy, resources, and infrastructure, with a proven track record in investment strategy, capital allocation, and high-conviction decision-making—core attributes essential to managing an investment fund. His career began in global investment banking, spending a decade at top-tier firms including Credit Suisse, UBS, and Morgan Stanley across Australia and the United States. Initially a generalist, Michel quickly specialised in energy and resources, developing a sophisticated understanding of global markets.
While living in the U.S., he advised a broad spectrum of companies across the energy value chain—ranging from exploration and production to integrated majors, refiners, midstream operators, and national oil companies. This built a foundation of analytical rigor and industry insight that he expanded upon upon returning to Australia, broadening his scope to include mining and broader resources. In 2009, Michel took on a turnaround CFO role at a publicly listed company, further demonstrating his operational and financial leadership. He joined the founding team at Flagstaff Partners, a leading independent advisory firm in Melbourne, where he served as a Managing Director and Partner for over a decade. At Flagstaff, Michel advised institutional clients and corporates on strategy, mergers and aquisitions, capital markets, and long-term capital deployment—critical skill sets directly relevant to fund management. His clients included BHP, Orica, Jemena, Mineral Deposits, Veolia and Eastern Star Gas, ANZ among others. His work consistently involved deep valuation expertise, disciplined industry strategic assessment, and the ability to deliver and complete complex transactions across numerous industries.
In recent years, Michel has transitioned toward the buy side, advising DUI and AUI on targeted investments and working with a family office on both direct private investments and global fund allocations. Over the past 18 months, he has also been managing his own capital, applying the same investment frameworks and discipline developed throughout his career. This blend of institutional experience, entrepreneurial leadership, and personal capital deployment positions Michel uniquely to lead an investment fund—bringing together deep sector knowledge, a long-term perspective, and a clear track record of value creation.
